Scag Turf Tiger chokes when mowing for a while
Hi Guys,
I’ve had my Scag lawn mower for around 2 years now and it’s been running without a hitch until now. If I leave the mower turned on for several hours, it idles without any problems but when I begin to mow, it starts choking like it’s low on gas even though it isn’t. Giving it a 15 minute break seems to solve the problem – after that it will run all day. Have any of you faced this issue?
Henry
Hello Henry,
There could be a couple of reasons for this – firstly, I would advise you to check out the voltage regulator. If it’s fine, there could be a problem with the electric clutch. Use a multimeter to make sure that there’s enough current flow one way within the diode. I faced this issue with my Turf Tiger and the problem was with the electric clutch constantly blowing up my fuse.
